Biography

Widely collected folk artist Simon Hardeveld’s work is always New Orleans-centric in subject and feel. “I paint New Orleans,” he says. “I paint it out of love for the city. New Orleans is my inspiration,” he says with a thick French accent. Formerly a chef and restaurateur in his native France, he revels in the arts culture, the spirited festival atmosphere, and the city’s historic ties to his native France.
