Location, Location, Location: Writing about Place
Presented by Margaret Eby

9 a.m. to noon
State Library

In writing, as in real estate, location is everything. In this workshop, journalist and memoirist Margaret Eby will go through the basics of setting a scene, a necessary skill for crafting anything from a short newsy article to a longform piece of creative nonfiction to a novel. Through examples from both fiction and nonfiction and exercises, participants will explore the most effective methods to situate their story, and use place effectively. Participants are encouraged to bring a work in progress or an idea for a piece to workshop.

To register for a 2016 Louisiana Book Festival WordShop, complete this form or call 225.219.9503.
