Alvin Batiste

Greg Fischer

Alvin Batiste, famous folk artist and native of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, works from a studio there in Framer Dave’s Frame Shop.  His brightly colored acrylic and water color paintings feature lively scenes from his childhood along Bayou Lafourche and include illustrations for a children’s book.  The best Louisiana folk artist since Clementine Hunter, Batiste’s dynamic works are collected in many venues across the country from celebrities and museums to locals.
