Sarah M. Broom has contributed to the New Yorker, New York Times Magazine, Oxford American, and O Magazine, among others. Her highly anticipated first book, The Yellow House, published to critical acclaim in August 2019 by Grove Press, is a memoir about the inexorable pull of home and family, set in a shotgun house in New Orleans East. She lives in Harlem with her partner, filmmaker Dee Rees, and a tiny brown dog.
