Mary Gehman



Mary Gehman, historian, lecturer, author, and publisher of Louisiana topics, is best known for her books Women and New Orleans and The Free People of Color of New Orleans. Since Hurricane Katrina, she has been living in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. Recently, Gehman teamed up with folk artist Alvin Batiste to write and publish the children’s book Cardy the Cardinal Finds a Home in Donaldsonville.
