Given that Louisiana is experiencing the highest daily hospitalizations due to COVID resurgence since the beginning of the pandemic, the live and in-person Louisiana Book Festival will not be held. The health and safety of our festivalgoers, authors and other presenters, volunteers, exhibitors, and staff are of utmost priority in making this difficult but necessary decision. It is anticipated that a limited number of virtual programs originally planned for the live festival will be made available and announced through the festival and State Library of Louisiana websites and social media. More information is forthcoming.

At the festival

The Louisiana Center for the Book in the State Library of Louisiana is proud to present the 17th edition of this free, world-class literary celebration. More information will be posted on this site later this summer.

The Louisiana Book Festival is your chance to meet exceptional writers while enjoying book-related activities and presentations.

Comment from a 2017 LBF attendee

This was a truly wonderful literary experience.

Book-loving volunteers are essential to the Louisiana Book Festival's success. Whether it's escorting authors, guiding visitors, selling refreshments, working with children in the Young Readers Pavilion, or other fun and rewarding assignments, the Louisiana Book Festival wants you to join the volunteer team.
