Miki Pfeffer, PhD, is an independent scholar and native New Orleanian. Her books about women are Southern Ladies and Suffragists: Julia Ward Howe and Women’s Rights at the 1884 New Orleans World’s Fair and A New Orleans Author in Mark Twain’s Court: Letters from Grace King's New England Sojourns. She still transcribes King’s letters. Also, an exhibit of her fashion art from a former career in department store advertising is currently on display at the State Library of Louisiana.
