Focus on Youth - Kids

Believing that the love of books and reading begins in childhood and that children are more inclined to read and learn when exposed early to age-appropriate, fun, book-related activities, children's authors, storytellers and the Young Readers Pavilion are integral components of the Louisiana Book Festival.

Programs for young readers take place throughout the day in the State Library and Young Readers Pavilion. The Young Readers Pavilion is located in front of the State Library on N. Fourtth Street and includes our activities tent, storytelling tent, writing enrichment tent and face painting tent.

The Young Readers Pavilion also offers crafts and costumed storybook characters.
