A native of Mississippi, Benjamin Morris is the author of one book of nonfiction and three books of poetry, most recently The Singing River. His work has appeared in The Oxford American, Lithub, and The Southern Review, and received fellowships from the Mississippi Arts Commission and Tulane University. His next book, a memoir entitled Defender of the Citrus: A New Orleans Love Story, is forthcoming in 2027 from University Press of Mississippi.
