Danny Heitman is a longtime columnist for The Baton Rouge Advocate and the editor of Forum, a quarterly journal of ideas published by the national collegiate honor society Phi Kappa Phi. He also writes frequently about books and culture for The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, and other national publications. Heitman is the author of A Summer of Birds: John James Audubon at Oakley House, an LSU Press title that was adapted into a public television documentary and was nominated for an Emmy.
