Madi Hannan is a New Orleans native, artist, author, illustrator, and science teacher whose work is inspired by the Gulf South's wonderfully weird creatures, vibrant culture, and distinct charm. She wrote and illustrated Scrim on the Run, The Little Lost Alligator, and Scrim on the Run: Christmas Fun!, and illustrated Where Do Beignets Come From?, Welcome to Cafe Beignet, and Louise’s Garden. When not teaching biology or making art, Hannan enjoys dog sports with her dog, Jacques, baking cookies, and napping with her cats, Butters and Boba.
