Kay Murphy is Professor Emerita at the University of New Orleans where she taught in the English Department, Creative Writing Workshop, Honors Program, and served as Poetry Editor for Bayou. Her poems have appeared in over 100 journals such as North American Review, Poetry, and Painted Bride Quarterly. She has two poetry collections, The Autopsy and Belief Blues, and is the editor of On a Wednesday Night, an anthology of UNO student and faculty poems for which she was awarded UNO author of the year in 2022.
