Martha B. Boone
Martha B. Boone, MD was a surgery and urology resident that trained at Charity Hospital, New Orleans from 1985-1991. She’s one of the first one hundred women board certified in Urology. She retired from the practice of urology after 35 years to write. She was challenged by her mentor to memorialize the hospital in her novels, Mother Charity and The Big Free. She is also the author of the nonfiction book, The Unfettered Urologist.
