Ashley Mace Havird has published four poetry collections, including Wild Juice and The Garden of the Fugitives, which won the X. J. Kennedy Prize. Her debut novel, Lightningstruck, won the Ferrol Sams Award for Fiction. A new novel, Swimmer, is scheduled for publication with NatureCulture Press in February 2027. Her poems and stories have appeared widely in anthologies and journals such as The Virginia Quarterly Review, Sewanee Review, and The Southern Review.

A collection of 70 nature-based poems, several by Louisiana State Poet Laureates, focused on the wondrous but endangered environment of Louisiana.
